Rethink Mental Illness works to help everyone affected by severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, recover a better quality of life. It provides effective services and support and campaigns for change through greater awareness and understanding. Rethink was formerly called the National Schizophrenia Fellowship.

UK PAPYRUS is a national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. They support young people under 35 who are experiencing thoughts of suicide, as well as people concerned about someone else.

Nightline If you’re a student, you can look on the Nightline website to see if your university or college offers a night-time listening service. Nightline phone operators are all students too. AL-Anon family groups offer support and understanding to the families and friends of problem drinkers, whether they’re still drinking or not. Alateen is part of Al-Anon and can be attended by 12- to 17-year-olds who are affected by another person’s drinking, usually a parent. Sexual Health Helplines

The national health helpline can also put you in touch with SARC, which are sexual assault referral centers (SARC), where you can get specialist support and medical care if you have been sexually assaulted.

Victim Support is an independent charity supporting those affected by crime, whether or not reported to the police. The option to report is also up to the victim as they have the support that does not have to include the justice system.
